Hilgraeve, Inc. and
Cerner Form Alliance to Provide Secure Internet Connectivity for Cerner
Clients Monroe, Mich., April 24, 2002 - Hilgraeve, Inc., a long-time leader in data communications software, announced today it has formed an alliance with Cerner Corporation. This relationship will provide Hilgraeves secure Internet delivery service, called HyperSend, to the multiple practice management systems that serve Cerners client, Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. HyperSend will provide a secure and trusted path between the data coming from the various practice management systems and Beth Israels database, hosted by Cerner. Hilgraeve will aggregate data coming from the multiple physician management systems in secure, separate databases, so there will be no co-mingling of patient information. In a second phase of the project, Hilgraeves HyperSend will also be used to securely deliver lab reports from Cerners HNA Millennium ePathLink system to the individual physicians served by the multiple practice management systems. HyperSend is a Web-based system that enables Internet users to exchange sensitive information securely with anyone in the world, through a web browser. HyperSend also features powerful capabilities that give healthcare organizations the ability to exchange patient data automatically even among unattended computers. In addition, the systems integrated workflow management tools save time and reduce costs. HyperSend requires virtually no training, doesnt require maintenance by an IT staff, and can be quickly implemented. HyperSends capabilities fit the solution we needed at Beth Israel, said Mike Breedlove, vice president and managing director of Cerner's laboratory medicine enterprise. The systems ease of use, fast deployment and rapid integration with our applications met our needs perfectly, Mr. Breedlove added. We are very pleased that a healthcare organization as prestigious as Cerner selected our HyperSend product. The impact of HIPAA regulations is at the top of healthcare executives minds, and HyperSend provides a broad, easy-to-implement, HIPAA-ready solution that lets healthcare facilities exchange patient data through the Internet today, safely, securely and economically, said Matt Gray, president and CEO of Hilgraeve. HyperSend secure delivery service was designed to overcome the inadequacy and risk of using e-mail or FTP to exchange patient data through the Internet. Legacy digital data transfer technologies are not secure enough or robust enough to transmit large, highly confidential patient documents or files. HyperSend software provides encryption, authentication via passwords and digital certificates, and an audit trail to ensure complete security of communications. About
