Hilgraeve introduced DropChute instant file delivery software in February 1998 to do away with problems businesses experience when they try to exchange files as email attachments or with ftp – problems such as corrupted files, slow or uncertain delivery, trouble exchanging large files, and security concerns. DropChute software incorporates an easy drag-and-drop interface, and lets users exchange files with others through secure, real-time PC-to-PC connections via the Internet, intranets, or direct modem-to-modem calls. DropChute automatically resumes interrupted file transfers, provides virus protection (updated free); ensures privacy with RSA Public Key Authentication and Symmetric Key Encryption (using Microsoft or 3rd party Cryptographic Service Providers conforming to MS CryptoAPI standards); issues real-time on-screen or e-mailed confirmations; and tracks activity with a detailed log. |
